Midway, GA Aubrey W. Todd Jr., 73, died peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah following a long illness. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Brenda J. Todd, he is survived by his son, Chris Todd (Robyn), and daughter, April Todd Burriss (Charles), of Midway; sisters, Marilyn Higgins (Jim) of Clifton Park, NY, and Judy Bergagnini (Mike) of Parkerfield, KS; four grandchildren, Nathan and Madison Burriss, Kasie Burriss-Sexton (Trevor), and Austin Long; and one great grandson, Liam Sexton. Born in Glennville on September 14, 1941 to Aubrey W. Todd and Iris Driggers Todd, Aubrey grew up in Savannah graduating from Jenkins High School in 1959. He married Brenda in 1969 and they moved to the Isle of Wight in Midway where they resided for 45 years. He worked for 32 years as a commercial pipe insulator for the Heat and Frost Insulators & Allied Workers Union Local 96 in Pooler, retiring in 1993. An avid woodworker, he enjoyed working in his woodshed building bird houses, trucks, and furniture for family and friends. He was a faithful member of Midway First Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Friday July 24, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Midway First Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Dorchester Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Edward Todd, Wayne Todd, Stephen Todd, Jeremy Custer, Nathan Burriss, and Austin Long.
