Efrain "DJ" DeJesus

Hinesville SGT Efrain "D.J." DeJesus (US Army, ret.), 62, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Georgia Hospice Care provided the in-home care. Born in Puerto Rico, he was a resident of Hinesville for 35 years and a retired United States Army Ranger (Airborne). A local businessman for 18 years, he was the former owner and operator of D.J.'s Used Cars and Service Station across from the old courthouse in Hinesville. He was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, MSG (US Army, Retired) Venacio and Gladys DeJesus of Orlando, FL, and grandson, Alezander DeJesus. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda DeJesus; sons, Fanchy DeJesus of Hinesville, Rafael DeJesus of Ludowici, and Stephen DeJesus of Hinesville; brothers, Rafael DeJesus of Columbia, SC, and Edwin DeJesus of Orlando, FL; and his grandchildren, Christian, John Emory, Christina and Lelyn. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Adrianna Shaw and the Rev. Deacon Adna (Chad) Chaffee officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at a later date.
