Richard Marion Johnson

Richard Marion Johnson, Sr., was born September 26, 1928, in Savannah. After losing his mother, Annie Lucille Newman, in an automobile accident, he was raised in Bethesda Home for Boys until joining the ARMY in 1946 for service in World War II. Following his discharge from the Army, worked for Chatham Steel for sixteen years, then the Georgia Port Authority until his retirement in 1990. Richard loved his family and shared his passion for fishing with them. He will be greatly missed, but he is enjoying his heavenly life with his beloved wife Rachel. Visitation will be 11 am-12:00 pm, Monday, September 28, 2015, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Interment with Military Honors will be in Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
