Mary Alice Harn

August 10, 1921 — October 16, 2015

Richmond Hill Mary Alice Martin Harn entered into the presence of Jesus on Friday, October 16, 2015. She was born at home in Nevils, Georgia, Bullock County on August 10, 1921 to Josh Martine and Mary Elma NeSmith Martin. Mary Alice graduated from Nevils High School in 1939 and attended Business College in Savannah where she met Edward Charles Harn. They married on February 14, 1940 and were married for 62 years before he died in 2009. She was "mom" to five children. She loved her family and ran a "tight ship". When she had spare time, Mary helped her church prepare many a meal for someone, planted flowers, and preserved food from her home garden. She was a master at sewing, crocheting, knitting and loved to fish. Mary lived in Richmond Hill and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ed "Chester", and three sons, Larry Edward Harn, Loy William Harn, and Charles Lindy Harn. Survivors are her daughter, Mary LaMonnie Harn Moore (Roy) of Marrietta, GA; son, Martin Lonnie Harn (Mary) of Richmond Hill, GA; daughters in law, Lavonne W. Harn Bailey of Bonaire, GA, and Valerie H. Thomason of Mt Pleasant, SC; grandchildren, Eric Moore (Jan), Monica M. Bates (Jorn), Kelly Moore (Angie), Josh Harn (Mandy), Janna H. Baker (Jay), Marty Harn (Kimberly), Jason Harn (Keenan), and Nickie H, Reavis (Jami); great grandchildren, Amanda M Varela (Orlando), Sara Moore, Kirsten Bates, Hayden Moore, Tullis Moore, Ezra Moore, Rachel Harn, Tyler Harn, Blake Barker, Ava Rose Barker, Nolan Frye, Greyson Reavis, Jocelyn Reavis, Logan Harn and Hudson Harn; great great grandchildren, Fallon, Kylie and Ashton Varela. She will be greatly missed by many family members, her neighbors and church family. The family wishes to express great gratitude to her primary caregivers from THAGroup, Melissa Smith J'Keerah Montgomery, Tasheika Bryant, and Felisha Famble. The family will receive guests from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 with the service to begin at 12:00 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel, 10512 Ford Ave Richmond Hill with the Rev. Douglas Harn officiating. Burial will be at Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Belfast Keller Road in Richmond Hill.
