Willie L. “Will” Rackley, 80, died Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Rocky Ford, he lived in Midway for the past 26 years. He was a Baptist and a veteran of the Georgia Air National Guard. He was retired from Interstate Paper after 34 years, a Life Member of the NRA, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted family man.
Survivors are his wife of 25 years, Ellen Dasher Rackley; two children, Connie Taft and Smiley Dean Rackley, both of Syracuse, GA; stepchildren, John E. Miles, II, (Brendette) of Lilesville, NC, Lupert E. Miles (Cynthia) of Midway, Ronnie Moore (Don) of Midway, Mikki Boyd (Greg) of Bardstown, KY, and Dr. Thomas D. Miles (Rebecca) of Milledgeville; sisters, Barbara Ann DuMont of Canton, GA and Conchetta Faulk, of Pooler, GA; brother, Charles Rackley of Savannah; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, 13 step-grandchildren, and eight step-great-grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends from 11:30 am to Noon, Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel and the Memorial Service will follow at Noon.
