Mary Hendrix Clark, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on
She was born in Bulloch County on August 19, 1926. She received her Teaching Degree from Georgia Teachers college and began her teaching career in Liberty County in a one-room school in Fleming. In 1978, after thirty-three years of service, she retired from the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools. Mary was a devoted member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Fleming where she volunteered her services as the pianist for more than thirty years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Clark; her parents, John and Ethel Hendrix; a beloved grandson, Ronald Clark, Jr.; six brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be 10-11 am, Friday, August 12, 2016, at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, followed by funeral services at 11am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
