George I. Edwards, Sr., 91, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Candler Hospital surrounded by his family.
He lived in Fleming for the past 42 years and was a member of Fleming Baptist Church. He was a United States Army WWII veteran and was retired from Interstate Paper after 21 years.
He is survived by his children, George I. Edwards, Jr., (Debbie) of Brunswick, Paul Edwards of Springfield, Thomas Edwards (
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, November 4, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Fleming Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah.
