Thomas E. Cribbs, 72, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.
Born in Bulloch County to Thomas Ivey and Laura Ruth Cribbs, he was a major with the Hinesville Police Department until his retirement in 2016 after 41 years of service to the community. Major Cribbs was a graduate of the FBI and GBI Academies. He worked for the Bryan County Sheriff’s Office for 6 ½ years, becoming the first GA

He is survived by his wife, Mary Dowd Cribbs; daughter, Tina Cribbs Chavis of Dublin; granddaughter, Laura Chavis; former wife and special friend, Shirley Cribbs of Dublin; sister, Clara Morrison of Pembroke; a host of nieces and nephews; and his furry friends, Mocha and Kahlua.
