Gene Otto Dasher, 56, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Savannah Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was a lifelong resident of Hinesville and a member of Crossroads Holy Church of God. A plumber of 43 years, he worked for Roto-Rooter for the past several years. Gene was a true testament of how God can work in someone’s life. He was an avid NASCAR and Jimmy Johnson fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katy Dasher; son, Nathan Alexander Dasher; his parents, William Ivey and Catherine Dasher; and his half-sister, Doris Mae Stafford.
He is survived by a son, Matthew Gene Dasher of Opelika, AL, and daughter, Jessica Dasher Crowder (John) of Greer, SC; stepson, Austin Blackwell of Ludowici; 4 grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Hassan, and Zandaya; brothers and sisters, William Dasher, Jr., Eloise Pendley (Roger), Larry Dasher (Pixie), Jeanette McBride (Jerry), George Dasher, Nancy Terrell (Craig), and Delores Kingsly; half-brother and sisters, Dorothy Futch,
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at
