James Donald “Donnie”  Jackson, Jr., 56, passed away March 20, 2017, at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Ridgeland after a short illness.

Born in Bulloch County on April 3, 1960, to James and Juanita Jackson, he lived in Hinesville all this life.  He was a graduate of Bradwell Institute’s class of 1979, and was employed at Argos Concrete Company in Hinesville, GA, for many years.

Donnie was a gentle soul and a true friend to many.  He loved many activities with his children, woodworking, being outdoors, and was a “Jack of all trades”.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children, James Quincy Jackson and Callie Gail Jackson; two sisters, Elizabeth “Susie” Jackson and Yvonne Kelley (Ron); and two nephews, Patrick Kelley (his wife Andrea and their children, Addison and Lincoln) and Michael Kelley (his wife Sarah and their son, Eli).

Visitation will be 5-8 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral service will be Friday, March 24, 2017, at 11 am in the chapel at Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Darsey officiating.  Burial will be in Lake Cemetery, Hwy 46, Metter, GA, at 3:30 pm.
