Dean Russell Davis, 55, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.

He was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School in 1979 and graduated from Armstrong College with a degree in Physical Education, a Master’s degree, and a six-year specialist degree. He was a teacher in the Bryan County School System for over 20 years. He attended the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church. He was the first paid employee of the Richmond Hill Recreation Association. He enjoyed sports, gardening, fishing, golfing, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife Susan L. Davis; son, Richard Davis; daughter, McKenzie Davis; granddaughter, Caroline Greeson; parents, Richard and Christine Davis; one brother, Chris L. Davis (Heather); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 14, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
