Margie Bush Eberhardt passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at her daughter’s home on Colonel’s Island. She was 91.
Margie enjoyed the coastal life, entertaining, traveling, and being with her family. She was retired from The Hinesville Bank (now The Heritage Bank) and was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and the Lions Club.
She was predeceased by her parents, Zena and J. Howard Thompson and Barney Kicklighter; husbands, Sidney Monroe Bush, Jr., and Homer Eberhardt; sons, Sidney Monroe Bush, III, and David Lee Bush; grandchildren, Karen Elaine Carter and Daniel A. Bush; sister, Doris K. Rogers; and son-in-law, Calvin Lamar Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Bush Carter, grandsons, Donald Lee Carter and Kevin Neal Carter, and great-grandsons, Kyle and Grayson Carter, all of Colonel’s Island; one sister and brother-in-law, Ann T. and Gerald DeLoach; numerous nieces and nephews, and her loving caregiver, Belinda Maley.
Visitation will be 10:00 am until 10:30 am, Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Midway United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am with Rev. Hank Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East in Savannah.
Pallbearers will be H. Gerald DeLoach, Jr., Thomas DeLoach, Douglas DeLoach, John R. Rogers, Adam Cochran, and John O’Neil Catterton. Honorary pallbearers will be Mandy and the staff of Compassus Hospice, David Varnadoe, Willa Lewis, Wanda and Earl Phillips, Charles McCord, Woody Lindell, and Albert Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Midway United Methodist Church, 215 Martin Road, Midway, GA 31320, or Eastern District Fire and Rescue, 2630 Galley Lane, Midway, GA 31320.
