Gary A. French, 55, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born in Wyoming, lived in Montana and moved to Savannah in 1991. He drove a truck for P&L Transportation, then worked for Koch Asphalt, but most recently he was employed by Phillips 66 as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed cooking and fishing, and loved his dog JD.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, John Carlton French; brother, Frank Gross and sister, Jan Dozier.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Lora King French; his mother, Lilian Dozier of Midway; sister, Sherry Allen of Oregan; brother, Carlton Gross of California; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2017, in Richmond Hill, Georgia at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Swainsboro, Georgia.
