Matthew R. Horne, 52, affectionately known by his friends and family as “Hat” or “Match-ew”, passed away Monday, April 30, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 1, 1965, at Fort Stewart, GA, he worked for Horne Wood Products for over 17 years. He loved his family and friends foremost, as well as beer, his “nip”, NASCAR, and making crazy remixes of country songs by the fire barrel.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobby R. Clark; sister, Jenny Wooden; brother, Michael “Bull” Horne; niece, Hannah R. Sneed; and cousin, Rodney D. Clark.
Survivors include his son, Shane Patti (Amber), and daughters, Casey Horne Alvarado (Adam) and Molly Myrick; Aunt Bonnie and John Shuman, who raised his after the passing of his mother; grandchildren, Grace, Kenleigh, Kadence, and Olivia “Pistol”; siblings, Denise Haire, Sally Driggers, Johnny Shuman, and Melissa Shuman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His Celebration of Life will be 5-7 pn, Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel, 308 West Oglethorpe Highway, Hinesville.
