Michael T. Haggerty, Sr., died on August 1, 2018, while in Memorial University Medical Center after a short illness. Mike was born August 11, 1964, to the late Thomas L. and Alma Haggerty. He was the little brother of Judy Anderson (Joe), Linda Bjork (Dave), and Sheila Fraser (Layton).
Mike is survived by sons, Michael, Jr., Justin (Amber), and Noah; grandchildren, Hunter, Trulyn and Austin. He will also be greatly missed by his special companion, Deloris Kingsley, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.
We will all remember the Hag’s laugh and friendly demeanor. His smile was always welcoming, and he was always willing to do what he could to help and would give freely.
Hag had a big heart and enjoyed being with family and friends. He loved spending time in the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman who is now enjoying what the angel showed John – “the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city.”
Hag loved family get togethers, a good dog (Spot), a good joke, and a cold beverage. He’s going to be missed here on earth, but it brings us all comfort in knowing that he’s back in his sweet, loving mother’s arms and in His home forevermore.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m., Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
