Faye Thomas Satchell

Hinesville

Faye Bagley Thomas Satchell, 83, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018, at Willow Pond Assisted Living in Statesboro.  She was surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Hinesville, she was retired from the City of Hinesville after 18 years of service.  She attended Westside Baptist Church before moving to Savannah.  She was very active in the VFW and was the first president of the Ladies Auxiliary in the Hinesville Chapter.  She enjoyed volunteering in local nursing homes.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Pippin. 

She is survived by her children, Fred Thomas, III, of Florida, and Cindy lee of Hinesville; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Lilla Reynolds (Lloyd) of Jesup and Eva Knueppel (Paul) of Vance, SC; her best friend and companion, Fred Thomas, Sr.; and several nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Sunday, September 23, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at 11 am, Monday, September 24, 2018, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Hinesville Cemetery.
