Clarence Crowley, 84, passed away at home Saturday, September 22, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Born and raised in Fleming, he lived several years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, before moving back. He was a veteran of the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. Mr. Crowley was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 719 in Fort Lauderdale. He enjoyed being outside, fishing, and planting a garden and sharing his bounty with everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Eva Crowley; brothers, Joe Crowley, Archie Crowley, and Carroll Crowley; sisters, Louise “Jimmy” Shuman, Kathleen Light and Mildred Haymans.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Joy Crowley; children, Judy Lynn Crowley Needs, Marilyn J. Crowley, and Anthony Clarence Crowley, all of Liberty County, and Brian McGuirl of Texas; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Crowley of Fleming and his twin brother, Clinton Crowley of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 11 am, Friday, September 28, 2018, at the funeral home and burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
