Norma F. Jeffcoat

Norma Frazier Jeffcoat, 59, passed away surrounded by her family Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, GA.

Born in Kinston, NC, she lived most of her life in the Elizabeth City, NC, area.  She dedicated her life to being an educator and taught at River Road Middle School in Elizabeth City, Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, VA, and Jacksonville Commons Middle School in Jacksonville, NC.   

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Jeffcoat, and parents, Johnnie and Grace Frazier.

Surviving are her three daughters, Amy Sammito of Morenci, AZ, Katie Martin (Seth) of Little Rock, AR, and Rachael Jeffcoat of Tacoma, WA; four grandchildren, Philip Sammito, Kaitlynn Yates, Huston Martin and Margot Martin; sister, Edith Dawson of Hinesville, GA; and brother, David Frazier of Newcastle, OK; aunt, Martha Hodnett of Richlands, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Pine Valley United Methodist Church, 910 Pine Valley Road, Jacksonville, NC 28546. 

To honor Norma’s love and dedication to teaching, in lieu of flowers, please bring a donation of school supplies to the service.  You may also drop off your donation at Jacksonville Commons Middle School, 315 Commons Dr S, Jacksonville, NC 28546, or your neighborhood middle school or elementary school.
