Anthony Christopher Adams

Anthony Christopher Adams, 59, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 12, 2018, from his home in Ludowici, GA, surrounded by his family.

Born in Fresno, CA, on March 21, 1959, to William Terrell and Pearline Spraggins Adams, he was raised in San Diego and graduated from Montgomery High School.  He joined the military right out of high school and served in United States Army for twelve years.  He met and married the former Mary Thompson in 1980, becoming a dad to her son, Ray.  Mary and Anthony had five more children together, Latreace, Anthony, Tranell, Gloria, and Kiandra.

He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family.  He was a wonderful man, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sean Dell and Rochelle Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Adams; children, Ray Howard (Milenna) of Vancouver, WA, LaTreace Adams of Hinesville, Anthony Adams, Jr. (Marissa) of Chesapeake, VA, Tranell Adams (Kyera) of Vancouver, WA, Gloria Adams McGee (Andrew) of Blythewood, SC, and Kiandra Adams Johnson (Jerome) of Ludowici; sisters, Zelda Adams of Norfolk, VA, and Yvette Adams of Woodbridge, VA; twelve grandchildren, Darius, Marlene, Maceo, Destiny, Mariah, Maryann, Zay’dan, MacKenzie, Kylynn, Amiyah, Javion, and Paris; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Visitation will be 1-2 pm, Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  The memorial service will follow in the Chapel at 2 pm.  Interment will be in Miramar National Cemetery at a later date.
