Howard Hill

Howard Hill, 81, passed away at Coastal Manor Thursday, January 10, 2019, surrounded by his family.

A resident of Hinesville for the past 44 years, he was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.   A Vietnam Veteran, he retired from the US Army after 20 years of service at the rank of Master Sergeant.  He later retired from Civil Service after 20 years of service.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and cook.  He also volunteered his time with the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bea Hill, parents, Arlie and Hattie Hill, and several siblings.

He is survived by his children, Carla Goss (Rickey), Kathy Tootle (Al), and Brenda Laster; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two sisters, and a brother. 

Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Gum Branch Baptist Church.  Funeral services will begin at 2 pm, Sunday, January 13, 2018, at Gum Branch Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances are suggested to the Gum Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 8590 GA Hwy 196, Hinesville, GA  31313.
