Carol Jean Downs

Carol Jean Cannon Downs, 83, passed away at Hospice Savannah Friday morning, January 11, 2019, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Boston, MA, the only child of Henry T. and Louise A. Cannon of Hingham, MA.   She was married to William H. Downs (who preceded her in death) for 59 years.  Carol was a devoted and loving wife and mother.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hinesville for 58 years. 

She is survived by her son Michael Downs (Kimberly) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Debra Hallows of Hinesville; three grandchildren, Chris Downs of Marlboro, MA, Kelly Campbell of Richmond, VA, and Lori Hallows of Hinesville; four step-grandchildren, Tiffani Wooten of Chicago, IL, Brittani and Sydney Schlimgen of Virginia Beach, VA, and Summer St. James, of Sigonella, Italy; and three great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Callen Campbell of Richmond, VA and Charlee St. James of Sigonella, Italy.

Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, January 18, 2019 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Services will be private.
