Richmond Hill Olive Elizabeth Weinberger, 88, died on September 21, 2017. Born in Savannah to Leonard and Olive Smalley, Elizabeth (a.k.a. Liz or Lisa) had fond memories of growing up in her grandmother’s home on the Vernon River. While working as a Revlon girl at a department store in New Jersey, she met a man in the shoe department who would later become her husband, Paul Weinberger. Together they opened and ran a small chain of shoe stores in NJ called Paul and Lisa. They retired to Bryan County and lived for many years in Heron Point. Paul was the librarian at the Pembroke Library. Elizabeth moved to Magnolia Manor when Paul went into the nursing home, where he died in December 2013. Always gracious, Elizabeth was constantly thanking those who helped her as she struggled with her dementia. A voracious reader and pet lover, please remember Elizabeth by donating to a library, pet shelter or humane society. Services will be private.
