Carmen Maldonado Ojeda

Carmen Maldonado Ojeda passed away July 22, 2017, at home.  She was 85. Carmen was born February 4, 1932, on the small island of Puerto Rico to a family of 12 children--a large, but close-knit family that enjoyed the simple things in life.  She married Luis A. Ojeda on May 11, 1955, and recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Together they raised a daughter and two sons.  God further blessed them with grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and a great-grandson on the way! Carmen is remembered as a loving, passionate, and generous friend, mother, wife, and grandmother. Her family is blessed by the selflessness of her life which she poured into all those around her.  Carmen, a Proverbs 31 woman, is already missed, but we are assured by the sacrifice and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ that this is not an end, but a new beginning.  We look forward to the day when we are reunited according to God's perfect timing.  We will always love you and, until that glorious day, miss you, Carmen, Mami, Abuela, Grandma. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Luis A. Ojeda, of Hinesville; daughter, Norma Ojeda Kucharek (Mark) of Kingman, AZ; sons, Albert Ojeda (Kimberly J.) of Piqua, OH, and  Louis A. Ojeda, Jr., (Beverly) of Ludowici; sister, Priscilla Maldonado Martinez of Puerto Rico; brother, Hector Luis Maldonado of Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.  Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  We will celebrate the life of Carmen Maldonado Ojeda on Friday, July 28, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., at Midway First Baptist Church with Rev. J.C. Wright officiating.   Burial will follow in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville at 3 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Midway First Baptist Church, 10471 East Oglethorpe HWY, Midway,  GA  31320.
