Brandon Shawn Snavely, 34, of Richmond Hill, GA, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017. Originally from Fredericktown, Ohio, Brandon was born February 27, 1983, to Edward and Beth Snavely. Brandon grew up on the rural farms of Ohio and would later move to Bluffton, South Carolina, before finally residing in Richmond Hill, Georgia. Brandon was a long-time employee of International Paper, where he also served as a volunteer member of the paper plant’s fire and first responder team. He had a heart for serving others, and his passions, hobbies, and work ethic all proved that he received more joy in his lifetime from giving than receiving. When he wasn’t helping a neighbor fix their most recent home-appliance malfunction, he could frequently be found inside his garage at his scrollsaw working on various woodworking projects. If he wasn’t there, he was flying his beloved drone, providing beautiful aerial videography—especially to worried homeowners after Hurricane Matthew. Most of all though, Brandon loved being at home around his family where he was a devoted husband to Brittany, and committed, fun-loving, and patient dad and bonus-dad to Jamisyn (4), Gracen (4), and Addie-Grace (2). He is survived by his mother and father, Beth and Edward Snavely (Fredericktown, OH), wife, Brittany N. Snavely, son Gracen Snavely, step-daughters Jamisyn and Addisyn Odom, mother- and father-in-law, Vance and Lynette Askew (Richmond Hill, GA), sister-in-law Laura Leanne Askew (Richmond Hill, GA), and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents, Glen and Betty Ruth Snavely (Fredericktown, OH), F. Wayne and Kathleen Cannon (Kokomo, IN). Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. A Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church. Burial will be private.
