Michael "Puppy" Blankenship

April 14, 1962 — December 30, 2016

Richmond Hill Michael “Puppy” Blankenship, 54, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He lived most of his life in Richmond Hill and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.  He worked on Fort Stewart for several years and with the U.S. Postal Service for the past 7 years. He was a member of the Savannah Area Darting Association and Moose Lodge Post 1550.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoyed NASCAR and the Georgia Bulldogs, and truly loved life and his family. He is survived by his wife Linda Blankenship; children, Michael Blankenship, Makayla Blankenship, and Megan Hulsey; step-children, Chris Phillips (Ericka) and Tony Phillips (Lisa); grandchildren, Jared, Kelsee, Braden, Brylee, Emily, Eden and Everett; one great-grandchild, Landon; three brothers, Ricky Blankenship (Linda), Ray Morris (Kim), and Paul Morris (Cebele); two sisters, Linda Langford (Floyd) and Jan Sheppard; father-in-law, Lloyd Proman; brothers-in-law, Ronnie (Tammy), Donnie (Jessica), and Ricky Proman (Kandi); sister-in-law, Judy Goggins (Larry); best buddies, Cecil Pugh and Eddie Barretta; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will begin at 2pm, Monday, January 2, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel, and visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Daniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
