Hinesville, GA Setsu S. Olson, 78, passed away at home Monday, October 24, 2016, surrounded by her family. Born in Okinawa, Japan, she had lived in Hinesville since 1976, and was a member of the Fort Stewart Bowling Association. She was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren and that is what made her the happiest. She was preceded in death by her parents, Meiri and Matsu Sunagawa. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard F. Olson; children, Maria Tart (Albert) of Hinesville, Elaine Cayton (James) of O’Fallon, IL, and Lynne Edwards (Pat) of Hinesville; two sisters, Yoshiko Sunagawa and Junko Yoshizato, and two brothers, Meicho Sunagawa and Akio Sunagawa, all of Okinawa, Japan; six grandchildren, Jennifer Tart, Albert Tart (Dalila), Amanda and Emily Cayton, Sarah and Patrick Edwards; her aunt, Takeko Taira; cousin, Teruko Maeda; and several other family members. Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Friday, October 28, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Memorial service will follow at 7pm in the chapel.
