Marjorie Phelps Edwards

Marjorie Phelps Edwards, 87, died Monday, September 26, 2016, at Coastal Manor in Ludowici after a long illness. A native of Brunswick County, NC, she was a resident of Hinesville, GA, since 1967, and worked at The Heritage Bank for many years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hinesville and the Seniors Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Edwards was predeceased by her husband, Lester L. Edwards, Jr., and a son, Bobby Edwards. She is survived by a son, Billy Edwards of Hinesville; two sisters, Margaret Padrick of Hinesville and Libby Brown of Bolivia, NC; one brother, Robby Phelps of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC; 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel.  Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Hinesville with Rev. Roy Broughman officiating.  Burial will be in Forest lawn Cemetery in Bolivia, NC, at 10 am, Thursday, September 29, 2016.  Mrs. Edwards’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to First Baptist Church of Hinesville, 220 Memorial Drive, Hinesville, GA  31313.
