Connie Lucille MacDonald Grice, 69, was taken home by the angels today, August 13, 2016, from her residence in Hinesville. Connie was born in Batavia, New York, August 3, 1947. She grew up on a dairy farm and went to school in Pavilion, NY. She was proud of her name: Connie, after her Grandmother MacDonald, and Lucille after her Grandmother Mann. She loved the ocean, fishing in Canada and New York, the history of St. Augustine, all of Texas, and Bottomless Lake, New Mexico. She loved the history and beautiful Spanish Moss hanging off the old live oak trees in her mystic Georgia. Connie loved the beauty of all God’s gifts. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and picnics. She loved her Trinity. Her favorite advice was to offer the words spoken by Christ: “Go forth and love them as I have loved you.” She was preceded in death by her four sisters, twins Cassy and Callie, Cathlene, and Colleen; her beloved parents, Herman Morris MacDonald and Pauline Ruth Mann MacDonald; and brother-in-law, Noah Gillenwater. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Paul Jefferson Grice; her son, Brian Keith Brown (Debbie) of Camden, Delaware; daughters, Tammi Lynne Campaniello (Joe) of Milford, DE, and Paula Deanna Grice of Hinesville; her grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Matthew, Tia, Erica, Justin, Michael and Daniel, three great-grandchildren, Levi, Vincent, and Greyson; her baby sisters, Carol and Cheryl (John); and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11:30 am, Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Doug Force officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
