Hinesville Ann Morrell Powers, 54, died Friday, July 29, 2016, at home after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She lived in Hinesville for most of her life and was a member of Hinesville First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the Chancel Choir for many years. Ann was also a proud member of the American Nursing Association. She loved arts and crafts, quilting, sewing and painting. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Rodney K. Powers; three children, Emilie Darlene Hendrix (Craig, II) of Brunswick, Micah Nathaniel Powers (Zara) of Valdosta, and Samuel Alexander Powers of Hinesville; parents, Beverly and John Morrell of Illinois; three sisters, Lori Long of Oregon, Jennifer Stockman of Illinois, and Beth Clauden of Illinois; and several other family members. Ann’s three grandchildren, Craig Hendrix, III, Hailie Morrell Hendrix, and Ethan Powers, were her driving force for the past several years. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Hinesville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
