Richmond Hill Shirley Evans Vining, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 21, 2016 at Bryan County Health and Rehab Center. Shirley was a native of Savannah and lived in the Augusta area for 30 years before moving back to Richmond Hill for the past 26 years. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1953, was a member of the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and the Saints, a member of Augusta R.E.A.C.T. dive and rescue team, The Red Hats and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by husband John Wayne Vining and three sons Chuck, Jon and Dan. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law David and Traci Vining of Augusta; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and James Jones of Hephzibah; daughter and son-in-law Vera and Charlie Anderson of Washington, GA; son James Wiggins of Tyler, TX; sister Frankie E. Yawn of Richmond Hill; nephew Chris Yawn of Macon; daughter-in-law Pam Vining of Richmond Hill and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and cousins. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m., Sunday, January 24, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. The funeral service will be at 11:00 on Monday, January 25, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Burial will follow at Burnt Church Cemetery on Bryan Neck Road in Richmond Hill.
