Julia Ransone Wilson, 100, of Richmond Hill died January 13, 2016 at Bryan County Health and Rehab. She was born on June 9, 1915 in Polk County, Fla. And raised in Jacksonville. She was the daughter of the late William and Blanche Ransone. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Emmett J. Wilson, five sisters and one brother. She lived most of her adult life in Richmond Hill. She was a member of Richmond Hill Methodist Church where she was known as a Bible scholar and taught Sunday School for decades. She participated in Sunday School and the Saints group until recently. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Richmond Hill Garden Club and the Senior Center. She was an avid reader and loved writing poetry and was considered the Poet Laureate of Richmond Hill and had many of her poems published. Her career was as a cashier at Wilson Brother’s, formerly the Ford Commissary. Surviving are her daughter, Eileen Ziegler; two granddaughters, Robin Bridges (Mark) Cary, N.C. and Natalie Brown, Marietta, Ga.; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews especially Bob and Betsy Wilson who insured her needs were met. The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at 11:30 am at Carter Funeral Home, Bryan Chapel conducted by Dr. Glen Martin. A family visitation and reception will be held one hour, 10:30-11:30 am, prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Hillcrest Abbey West.
