Hinesville William G. Crapps, Jr., 85, passed away the morning of December 29, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, GA. He was a resident of Hinesville, GA, born in Americus, GA, on June 15, 1930. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church. He was a retired CW4 from the Georgia National Guard Technician Program, Fort Stewart, Georgia, after 32 years of service. He also served five years active duty in the US Army. His life was playing golf and enjoying family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. William G. Crapps, Sr., and Mrs. Eva Bridges Crapps Phillips; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Patterson McClanahan and Mrs. Judy Crapps Brothers; in-laws, Mr. James M. “Jimmy” Kennedy, Mr. Edward “Ed” Moody, Mr. Pat Patterson, and Mr. Charles McClanahan. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, LaNell K. Crapps; sister, Gloria C. Wilson (Joe) of Port Republic, NJ and their two daughters; sons of sister Beulah Paterson McClanahan, Neil Patterson (Judy) and William “Buddy” Patterson; sisters-in-law, Peggy K. Kennedy, Wilda Kennedy, and Frances K. Moody; nieces, Beverly Hodges (Ricky), Karen M. Cooler (Jonathan); nephew, Milton Kennedy (Jeanna); great nephews, Gavin B. Hodges (Anna) and James Nathan Hodges (Lindsay); great-nieces, Jami K. Baxter (Barrett) and Jessica K. Durrence (Ellis); great-great nieces, Kennedy Hodges, Caroline Hodges, Emmeline Baxter, Amelia Baxter and Ella Durrence; and one great-great nephew, James Nash Hodges. Visitation will be 1-2 pm, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Midway United Methodist Church. The Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Dan Pegram officiating. Inurnment with Full Military Honors will be 3 pm, Monday, January 4, 2016, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.Pallbearers will be Milton Kennedy, Ricky Hodges, Gavin Hodges, Nathan Hodges, Garrett Smith, and William “Bill” Davis.
