Nancy Lou Roberts Stearns, passed away after a battle with cancer Saturday, December 26, 2015, in Savannah. Born in Atlanta on November 28, 1936, she was a resident of Hinesville for 59 years. Nancy was a local coastal artist. She enjoyed painting, sewing, and crocheting. She was a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church in Atlanta. She loved her family with her whole heart and she will be sadly missed. As one of her granddaughters said it best, "She is painting the skies of heaven now." She was predeceased by her parents, Sterling (Bud) and Mildred Roberts, and her daughter, Audrey Froman. Nancy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leon David Stearns of Hinesville; daughter, Mary Beth Fritts (Bob) of Savannah; brothers, Richard "Butch" Roberts of Covington, GA, and Kenneth Hardin of California; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel in Hinesville. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Hinesville Cemetery.
