Susie Herring

Richmond Hill Susie E. Herring, 81, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her family. She was born in Annapolis, Maryland to the late Krozier and Annie Earley. In junior high school, she met her sweetheart, William. In 1949 at the age of sixteen, they snuck to Ridgeland, SC where they lied to the judge about their age and were married. William and Susie spent the next 65 years loving and caring for each other. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael L. Herring and granddaughter, Rebekah Herring Perry. Survivors include her children, William S. Herring, Jr and Janet Reid (James); daughter-in-law, Joy Bishop; grandchildren, James Jr., Jonathan (Jennie), and Jessica Reid, Michael (Rachel) and Adam (Aimee) Herring; five great grandchildren; and a brother, Krozier A. Early, Jr (Latrelle). A special thank is extended to Diane Larry, Cassandra Stacey, Diane Reed, and the staff of Hospice Savannah.
