Hinesville Robert Delaney, 42, died Saturday, September 12, 2015. A native of Ansonia, Connecticut, he lived in Hinesville for the past 12 years. He was a member of St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church and a retired Sergeant First Class of the United States Army, having served 22 years, including three tours in Iraq. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Survivors are his wife of 21 years, Ellie Delaney of Hinesville; daughter, Jordan Delaney, and son, Nathan Delaney, both of Hinesville; mother, Mrs. Robert (Diane) Nagel of Ansonia, CT; father, Les Delaney of Hamden, CT; sister, Mrs. Steffanie Geloso (Mike) of Ansonia, CT; nephew, Anthony Geloso; paternal grandmother, Virginia Delaney of Tavares, FL; and several family members. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with a Rosary Service at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be at 11 am, Friday, September 18, 2015, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church with Father Adam Kasela officiating.
