Ken Guyett, 61, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Memorial University Medical Center after a short illness surrounded by his family and friends. A lifelong resident of Hinesville, he was in the Georgia National Guard for several years and a member of Bulltown Hunting Club. He loved to hunt, fish, and spend time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Erldine Guyett, and brothers, Ernie Guyett, Dennis Guyett and Wade Guyett. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy S. Guyett of Hinesville; children, Jodi Stephenson and husband, Matt, of Hinesville, and Ernie Guyett and wife, Brooke, of Ludowici; grandchildren, Cole, Makenzie, Kapra, Meghan, Maci, Mason, Ashli, Nicolas and Cal; sister, Bobbie Dene Blake of Denver, CO; brother, Russell Guyett of Hinesville; several nieces and nephews; and life-long friends, Charlie Strickland, Ronney Smiley, and Mike Smiley. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Ludowici. Funeral will be Friday, March 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Ludowici with Rev. Bobby Brinkley, Rev. Eric Rentz, and brother-in-law, Buddy Blake officiating. Burial will follow in Hinesville Cemetery. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
