Richmond Hill Elbert Perry Findley, 78, died Monday, February 16, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. Born March 5, 1936, he was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill except for the two years that he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Elbert was known by most as the owner and operator of Findley’s Garage. He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Olliff Findley; two sisters, Wilda Myrick and Shirley Wilson; and a grandson, Clark Barefield. Survivors include his wife, Jeannette Findley; children, Shellma Ward (Odell), Franklin Findley (Cathy), Felicia Barefield (Russell) and Nancy Hart (Greg); eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral Services will be Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of Georgia PO Box 151 Drayton, SC 29333.
