Flemington, Ga – Fraser Edwards Martin, Sr. died Monday, December 1, 2014 under the care of Hospice of Savannah. Mr. Martin was born August 5, 1915 in Flemington, Ga to the late Olivious Curry Martin and Hallie Sipple Martin. He lived all of his 99 years on the same property on which he was born. He was self-employed as a tree farmer. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was also an elder at Flemington Presbyterian Church and a founding member and officer of the Liberty County Farm Bureau of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Irmgarde Vogel Martin. He is survived by his four children, Fraser E. Martin, Jr. (Laura); John F. Martin (Sandra); David S. Martin (Janice); Lisa M. Rose (Paul), seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Carter’s Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Flemington Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Memorials may be sent to Flemington Presbyterian Church.
