Walthourville James A. Diller, 53, died Tuesday under the care of Hospice Savannah after a courageous yearlong battle with brain cancer. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he was a resident of Liberty County for 25 years. He was a retired federal corrections officer, having worked in federal service for 33 years, and an Air Force and Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Diller, and his brother, Bobby Diller. He is survived by his wife Margaret of Walthourville; sons, Stephen Croft (Feroza) of Atlanta and Randall Croft (Scott) of West Hollywood, CA; daughter, Christina Graves of Rincon; mother, Delores Ann Diller of Kittanning, PA; and a granddaughter, Anna. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, July 24, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Committal service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, with full military honors.
