Vera E Rehberg

Mrs. Vera Eloise Brinson Rehberg, 92, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, following complications after a fall at her home. Vera was born on December 9th, 1921, in Twin City, Emmanuel County, GA. She moved with her family to Vero Beach, FL when she was two years old. She then moved to Richmond Hill, GA 5 years ago to be closer to her son. She was a homemaker, and also worked in a citrus fruit packing company, grading grapefruit for over 25 years. She loved to cook, and her family has many fond memories of wonderful meals at numerous holiday and family get-togethers. She also loved gardening, raising prize-winning orchids, shopping for groceries at the Kroger in Richmond Hill, and could be seen almost every Saturday at neighborhood yard sales. She was a devout Christian and was totally committed to her faith and caring for her family. She was the matriarch of the family and will be dearly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Lorenzo H. Rehberg, Jr., 2 daughters, Lawanna Bailey, and Gloria Darnell, both from Vero Beach, FL, 1 brother, Earl Brinson, from Merritt Island, FL, parents Robert and Ruth (Calhoun) Brinson, Vero Beach, FL, and 1 great grand-daughter, Brooke Bailey, from Vero Beach, Fl. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lorenzo and Barbara Rehberg, Richmond Hill, GA, two sisters, Edith Adams, of Richmond Hill, GA, Ellen Bledsoe (Clyde), of Vero Beach, FL, eight grandchildren, Robbie, Denise, and Donnie (Kelly) Tankersley, Michelle Aslin, all from Vero Beach, FL, Irene Rehberg Bentley (Bo), from Columbus, GA, Larry Rehberg (Vicky), Yelm, WA, Tanya Ney (Josh), Gainesville, FL, and Steven Bailey (Jennifer), Vero Beach, FL. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends at Magnolia Manor, in Richmond Hill, GA. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Strunk Funeral Home, 916 17th Street, Vero Beach, FL. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at the funeral home.
