Russell William Rapozo

Russell William Rapozo, 73, died Sunday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah following a short illness. Born in Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii, Mr. Rapozo lived in Hinesville for the past 12 years. He served in the US Army, was a Vietnam Veteran, and was retired from Civil Service at Fort Stewart after 38 years. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Ann Cole, and son, James Lee Rapozo (Joyce), of Hinesville; sisters, Marie Waters of Sacto, California, and Patricia Bussard of Marion, Indiana; brother, Patrick Rapozo (Evelyn) of Princeville, Hawaii; grandchildren, Brittany Rapozo, Ashley Cole, Katelyn Cole, Angel Rapozo, Eric Rapozo, Jessica Maternik, Mariah Maternik; and great grandson, Dominic Maternik. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
