Kenneth W. Downs

Kenneth W. Downs, 66, died Saturday at St. Joseph’s hospital following a short illness. A native of Savannah, he lived in Hinesville all his life. Mr. Downs was retired from Downs Lumber Company, served in the US Air Force, and attended Full Gospel Holiness Church. He was an outgoing and friendly person and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya Downs Gould (Michael) of Allenhurst; son, John H. Downs (Debra) of Clarksville; and parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Downs, Jr., of Walthourville. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Thursday, December 26, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral service will be Friday, December 27, at 11 am at Carter Funeral Home with Reverend Glenda Cooke officiating. Burial will be in Hinesville Cemetery. Pallbearers are Darryl Gaskin, Clarence Skipper, William Dasher, Mike Gould, Glenn Mays, and Tommy Downs. Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
