Midway Austin John Eisner, 18, passed away Sunday at Memorial University Medical Center from injuries sustained from an accidental gunshot wound. Austin lived in Midway all his life. He was a member of the senior class of Liberty County High School and attended Career Academy at Savannah Technical College. Austin had a contagious smile and laugh. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with friends and driving his truck. Austin enjoyed more in his life in the 18 short years he was here than most do in 60. He never met a stranger in his life and began each new friendship with a laugh and a hand shake. Austin was a devoted uncle and never failed to bring a smile to the faces of his niece and nephew. His favorite time of year was when he got to go deer hunting in Wisconsin in November with his whole family. He is survived by his mother, Deborah Eisner Casto (Sonny) of Midway; father, John E. Eisner, Jr., of Augusta; three sisters, Amanda Brigham (Jamie) of Hephzibah, GA, Jessica Eisner of Midway, Elizabeth Eisner of Evans, GA; one brother, Johnathon Eisner of Midway; maternal grandparents, Donald and Shirley Kellner of Schofield, WI, paternal grandfather, John W. Eisner, Sr. of Poynette, WI; great grandmother, Elaine Mayer of Chelsea, WI; niece and nephew, Valerie Brigham and Tillman Brigham, Jr., of Hephzibah, GA; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at Grace Christian Church and funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Michael Morgan officiating.
