Alan Thomas Prieskorn

Richmond Hill, Georgia Alan T. Prieskorn, 55, departed this life on November 22, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was born on September 17, 1958 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Kenneth M. and Pauline A. Prieskorn, both of who predeceased him. He attended Central High School in Manchester, New Hampshire (1977). He has resided in Richmond Hill for the past 18 years and is a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. He proudly served with the United States Marine Corps attached to VMFA-115 stationed in Beaufort, South Carolina. He has been employed by Gulf Stream Aerospace since 1981. Alan enjoyed backpacking, hiking and camping and shared his love the outdoors by serving as a scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 527 for 12 years. Alan is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sylvia (Duval) Prieskorn; two sons, Tyler Prieskorn of Savannah, GA and Timothy Prieskorn of Richmond Hill, GA; brothers, Michael Prieskorn, Douglas Prieskorn, Jeffery Prieskorn, and Kent Prieskorn; sisters, Kathryn Lewis and Margaret Wagner; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers Alan’s family requests donations be made in Alan’s memory to The ALS Association, 1275 K Street NW, Suite 250, Washington, DC 20005. The family also wishes to expresses their gratitude to the nurses and caregivers of Hospice Savannah who provided such loving care and assistance during Alan’s illness. A special thank you is extended to Cheriese McCoy, whom was the answer to our prayers and cared for Alan so compassionately during his last days. Their assistance is much appreciated. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Ford Avenue, Richmond Hill, GA.
