Jerry Clyde Hodges

Savannah, GA Jerry C. Hodges, 74, died at his residence Friday, November 08, 2013, after a long illness. A native of Long County, he lived in Savannah for over fifty years. Mr. Hodges was retired from civil service, having been a firefighter at Hunter Army Airfield for thirty years. Prior to that, he worked for the Savannah Fire Department and served in the US Air Force. He is survived by three sons, Jerry R. Hodges (Karen) of Stuart, FL, Marc Hodges (Carol) and David Hodges (Hildi) of Savannah; two brothers, Mickey Hodges (Helen) and Julian Hodges (Merry) of Gum Branch; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Graveside funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shaun Hodges, Chris Sparks, Donald Sample, Jr., and John Hodges.
