Hinesville James “Jimmy” E. Davis, 89, died Tuesday August 20th, 2013 at his residence under the care of Hospice of Savannah. Mr. Davis was a native of Tattnall County, but has lived in Liberty County for the past 73 years. Mr. Davis went to work for the Coca Cola Company in 1940 and worked for them for 47 years. After retiring from Coca Cola, Mr. Davis worked for Choo Choo Building Supplies for ten years. Mr. Davis was a member of Gum Branch Baptist Church. He is predeceased by a grandson, Gregory Allen. Survivors include his wife Milodean Davis; daughters, Faye Davis Harris (Allen) of Colbert, Linda S. DeLoach (Clifton) of Ludowici, and Harriet Smith (Robert) of Ludowici; sons, Dennis Davis (Julie) of Hinesville, Carolton Davis (Tina) of Savannah, Jeff Davis (Charley) of Hinesville; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one niece. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2013 at Gum Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Bryan, Rev. Rom Gardner, and Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Gum Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be James Davis, Devon Wells, Freddy Goodson, Terry Beecher, Michael Armfield, and Kyle Larrimore. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Hill, Woody Adams, Doug Williams, Marcus Yarborough, Pete Clark, Sam Miness, Charlie DeLoach, Bobby Smith, Cole Reddick, Grant DeLoach, and the Senior Sunday School Class of Gum Branch Baptist Church.
