Richmond Hill Robert W ”Bob” Anderson Sr. , 70, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born May 5, 1943 in Macon, GA. He was a son of Lattie Moore (Red) Anderson and Bobbie Sumner Anderson. He attended Savannah High School. After graduating from Carlisle Military School in Bamberg, SC, he attended Brewton Parker. He married the love of his life, Janice Johnson on February 8, 1964. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969. Upon returning from Vietnam, he attended jeweler's school in Paris, TX returning to Savannah to join his father in the family business, Red Anderson Jewelers. After retiring from Red Anderson & Sons Jewelers, he started a pawn shop, Bob's Big Bucks where he spent countless hours playing pranks, cooking, telling fishing and hunting stories, and having a great time with his friends. Later in life, he spent his happiest years at his shotgun house where he took care of his countless animals and garden. He also enjoyed time spent at his house in the NC Mountains. He is surviving by his wife Janice Johnson Anderson, of Richmond Hill; one son, Robert Willis Anderson, II (Kelli) of Richmond Hill; one daughter, Heather Anderson Davis (Chris) of Richmond Hill; five grandchildren who affectionately called him GeeGa, Wil, Hannah, Drew, Hayden, and Cole all of Richmond Hill; his mother, Bobbie Anderson of Savannah; a brother, Jimmy Anderson of Savannah; Julie Cox of Sylvania, GA; and numerous nieces and a nephew. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of United Hospice and Dr. Mullins and his staff. A memorial service remembering his life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.
