Daniel Douglas Horstmeyer

Townsend Daniel Douglas Horstmeyer, 25, went peacefully to be with his Lord Sunday, April 21, 2013 at his residence. Daniel was born on Fort Stewart on August 13, 1987. He enjoyed being around his family and two nephews. He loved to go fishing and being outside in God’s nature. Daniel was a believer in Jesus and went to be with the Lord and into the loving arms of his papa. If you were around Daniel, he would make you laugh and smile. Daniels main goal was to keep his family and friends laughing. . “My chains are gone. I’ve been set free.” Survivors include his mother, Teresa Lee Horstmeyer; a brother Brandon Lee Horstmeyer; a sister, Kendal Rae Horstmeyer; two nephews Brandon Lee Horstmeyer and William Keith Bragg all of Townsend; and a grandmother whom he loved dearly, Donna Rae Horstmeyer of Hannibal, Missouri. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Midway First Baptist Church with burial to follow at Midway United Methodist Church with the Rev. Clay Thomas officiating.
