Richmond Hill Shirley Bazemore Lanier of Richmond Hill, GA. died Wednesday, April 17, 2013. Mrs. Lanier was born March 1931 in Sylvania, GA. She was a member of the Richmond Hill United Methodist Church. She loved her grand and great-grandchildren, her TV stories, reading, spending time with her family and friends. Shirley was a charter member of the Richmond Hill Jaycettes 1960. She and husband, Alton, loved square dancing with their club, the Bucks & Does. Shirley was an avid bowler & won several awards. She is preceded in death by parents, Edward Lampkin and Lila Bazemore of Sylvania, GA; sister, Geneva B. Reddick of Savannah, GA; brother, David Michael Bazemore of FL; and son James C. “Jimmy” Weaver III of Bloomingdale, GA. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Elmer Alton Lanier of Richmond Hill, GA; daughter, Fonda Weaver Parker (Michael) of Richmond Hill, GA; son, Lance Alan Weaver of Garden City, GA; Alton Randall Lanier of Richmond Hill, GA; four grandsons, Jason Michael Parker (Allison) of Atlanta, GA; Scott Nelson Parker (Heather) of Clinton, MS; B.T. Blade of AZ; Joshua James Weaver of Savannah, GA; four granddaughters, Shaina Whiddon of Richmond Hill, GA; Julie Michelle Weaver of AK; Bambi Michelle Lanier of Garden City, GA; Tiffany Lanier Ginn (Keith) of SC.; three great-grandsons Evan Scott Parker and Grant Nelson Parker of MS; Anthony Alton Lanier of Garden City, GA.; Three great-granddaughters, Ava Maren Parker of MS, Averil Riley Parker of Atlanta, GA, Chloe Renee Ginn of SC; sisters, Jackie B Carpenter and Patsy B. Gill both of Savannah, GA and Deanna B. Weaver of Sylvania, GA; a brother, Howard Christopher Bazemore of Sylvania, GA; and many friends, in-laws, nieces, nephew, cousins and other relatives. Pallbearers are friends and nephews; William Sandlin, Tommy Sandlin, Jack F. Gregory III, Arnold Reddick, Edward Reddick, and Jack A. Gregory. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel with Rev. Glenn Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Wallace Holland of Richmond Hill and his staff for the many years of excellent care they have given to Mrs. Lanier.
