George Devereaux

Walthouville George William (Buddy) Devereaux, 71, died at his residence Friday, January 18, 2013 after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Liberty County, a member of Walthouville Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Devereaux. He is survived by his daughters, Deshelle Devereaux of Crosslanes, West Virginia and Laura F. Thomas (Eric) of Walthouville; a son, George William (Bill) Devereaux of Ramona, CA; a brother, James Ellis Devereaux of Griffin, GA; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 Monday, January 21, 2012 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel with burial to follow at Elim Baptist Church Cemetery.
